First in the Pack is a mentoring program that supports first year, first generation students’ transition from high school to Loyola. Housed in the Offices of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, First in the Pack is a campus-wide network of faculty, staff and students who create a community of support as they coach first-year students through adjustment challenges and teach them how to navigate Loyola’s resources.
We are looking for peer mentors for the 2014-2015 academic year. This is a unique opportunity for motivated sophomore, junior and senior students to gain leadership experience and enhance their advocacy skills. Mentors will meet twice a month with first-year, first-generation students. They will attend monthly focused dialogues and interact with first-year students on their own. Mentors will assist first-year students to meet their educational, personal, spiritual, and social needs throughout their first year of college.
Peer mentor applications for 2013-2014 are available here on Org Sync. Deadline to apply is March 21.
